WHAT MAKES JODENSAVANNE UNIQUE?

The Jodensavanne Archeological Site was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List on September 19 2023 and consists of two historically linked sites, namely the Cassipora Creek Cemetery and the Jodensavanne Settlement. Its Outstanding Universal Value stands out in comparison to other diasporic Jewish sites in the Atlantic World.

WORLD HERITAGE VOLUNTEER'S INITIATIVE

The volunteers will be invoked in training on artefact processing and identification, and workshops on archaeological field technique, and they will apply the knowledge and skills learnt, in maintenance and restoration works at specific parts of the Jodensavanne settlement and Cassipora cemetery
